Asa you gassho shite 

kokoro ni neji 

kuchi ni tonaeyo

upon arising / before retiring

making Gassho hands 

I chant aloud, taking to my heart

these words

Kyo dake wa

today only, only today

in this moment

here and now

Okoru na

I am not being angry

Shinpai su na

I am not being worried

Kansha shite

I am grateful

for the many blessings

Gyo wo hage me

I am being dedicated, vigilant, 

honest in my work and relations

Hito ni shinsetsu ni

I am being compassionate, 

gentle, kind, patient

with all creatures
